Privacy policy governing the use of the BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics App, BLACKDOG Dressage Analytocs App and website

We at BLACKDOG Biomechanics are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy when you use our website and our mobile applications. This privacy policy describes how we collect and use your personal data (as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the “GDPR”) in connection with your use of the Service. This privacy policy also describes your rights and how to enforce them. Terms not otherwise defined in this privacy policy shall have the same meaning ascribed to them in the Terms and Conditions, which may be found here.


Please read this privacy policy carefully before using the Service. By using the Service, you accept this privacy policy and our processing of your personal data. The policy for BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics is listed before the policy for BLACKDOG Dressage Analytics.


We are responsible for the processing of your personal data as described herein, as a data controller (as defined in the GDPR). BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics​

Data Collection

In order to provide the BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics App we need to process some information about you.

We collect content and communications that you provide when using BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics, such as:

  • The information that you enter when you create an account - that being your e-mail, password and full name.

  • The number of videos you have uploaded for Biomechanics analysis (to monitor your quota usage) and whether or not the processing was successful

  • What kind of phone / tablet and operating system you are using, the country where you are located when using BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics, what version of BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics you are using, what version of the Terms of Use you have approved and if you have approved push notifications.

  • We save some information about your use of BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics on your phone to facilitate your use, for example so you don't need to log in every time.

  • Biomechanics data is stored on our Google Cloud console (protected by two factor authentication).

  • We monitor our system for instances where the biomechanics assessment has not been successful. In this situation, we may access your video data in the interests of improving the system. We will never share such data with third parties and we will only ever use this data solely for monitoring or system improvement purposes in order to deliver the best service possible.

Data Use

We use the information to:

  • Be able to deliver BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics's features - chiefly the biomechanics results.

  • Develop, test and improve BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics by following what users are doing in order to build a better product.

  • Be able to communicate with you through notifications, push notifications and e-mails at when there is something new in BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics, and for marketing communications.

  • To respond when you contact us.

  • In cases where we send you e-mail marketing, you can at any time decline more emails by clicking on the unsubscribe link.

Additionally, some of your data may anonymously be used for research purposes if you have given us consent. Consent is requested when first registering for the app and can subswquently be given or rescinded at any time within the My Account section of the app.

  • Research projects will strictly be undertaken by BLACKDOG biomechanics Ltd.

  • We may work in conjunction with third-party academic institutions on interpretation, analysis and implementation, but we will retain control of the data and will not share the raw data with any third party.

  • All data will be anonymized.

Data Sharing

We use some external partners to provide the service, for example a system for user subscription management and cloud service for processing and storing biomechanics data. We do not share your information with anyone outside of BLACKDOG biomechanics Ltd for any purpose other than providing the service.

Data Retention Period

We will continue to process your information under this basis until you withdraw consent, delete your account, or it is determined your consent no longer exists.

Legal Basis

The reason for processing your personal data is to be able to provide BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics. By using BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics you give us the right to process your personal data.

Users under 18

We are not extending access to the app to users under the age of 18 at this time.​

Account Deletion

You can delete your BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics account at any time. You can begin the process within the app by selecting the "begin deletion" option within the My Account section. Alternatively, you can send an email to apps@blackdogbiomech.com with the subject Account deletion along with your full name and the email address you used to register the account. Please note that we will then delete all data associated with that account. This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account will not automatically unsubscribe you from the service. You must cancel your own subscription via your AppStore or GooglePlay account. There is a link to the relevant page available through the Manage button on the Subscription page.

Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account nor cancel any current subscription.

BLACKDOG biomechanics Ltd can delete your data if you haven't used your account for over a year. In those cases we will contact you via e-mail to ask if you would like to keep your account. If you do not log in to BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics App within three months after this notification, the account will be deleted.

Right to be Forgotten

You have the right to be forgotten, that is, BLACKDOG biomechanics Ltd deletes all data about you, not just your account. If you want to exercise this right, send an e-mail to apps@blackdogbiomech.com.

Right to Access Saved Data

You have the right to know what information we save about you, and you also have the right to access this information. If you want to exercise this right, send an e-mail apps@blackdogbiomech.com. If you think that we have incorrect personal data saved then you have the right to have them corrected.

Data Security

We ensure the security of any personal information we hold by using secure data storage technologies and precise procedures in how we store, access and manage that information. Our methods meet the GDPR compliance requirement. No system is 100% secure and there is always a small risk that data will end up in the wrong hands. By using BLACKDOG Equestrian Biomechanics you accept this risk.

If you believe that BLACKDOG biomechanics Ltd incorrectly processes your personal information, you can file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority in your country.

We encourage you to use a strong password so that no one can guess your login details.

  • The test scores, horse names and judge you have added to the system.

  • What kind of phone / tablet and operating system you are using, the country where you are located when using BLACKDOG Dressage Analytics, what version of BLACKDOG Dressage Analytics you are using, what version of the Terms of Use you have approved

  • We save some information about your use of BLACKDOG Dressage Analytics on your phone to facilitate your use, for example so you don't need to log in every time.
